The CHIKids program is designed to teach children and youth valuable social-emotional skills as well as thought and mood regulation skills critical for maintaining wellbeing, focus and a happy, relaxed state. Children learn calming breathing exercises, thought stoppers, progressive relaxation, self-esteem boosting games, the science of how their brains work and a variety of play-based cognitive exercises connected to increasing optimistic thinking and calm mind.
8 SESSIONS – GROUP OR INDIVIDUAL – AGES 5-11
S.H.A.P.E. (Sexual Health Advocacy through Peer Education) allows for youth with intellectual disabilities to learn about positive sexual practices using a variety of resources including visual supports, social scripting and moderated activities. S.H.A.P.E. aims to dispel myths about sexuality and disability while providing education, self-care skills, and a safe environment for exploration as part of a comprehensive sexual health curriculum for youth.
8 SESSIONS – GROUP OR INDIVIDUAL -AGES 13-EARLY ADULTS
Therapeutic Yoga integrates posture, meditation and breath work together into a treatment plan that supports a client’s overall mental health and optimal cognitive functioning. The low-risk, high yield practice has shown to be particularly effective for clients with anxiety disorders, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, head injuries, and for clients with developmental disabilities, as well as improving organ health, concentration and focus.

COGMED WORKING MEMORY TRAINING
The Cogmed training program was developed by the world’s leading neuroscientists and psychologists to improve working memory functions, creating a cognitive platform for behavioural improvement. Cogmed has shown to result in significant academic and behavioural improvements in children with ADHD and other developmental disorders, including improved impulse control, reduction in hyperactivity, stronger language development skills and better complex reasoning skills, as well as increased focus, and improved professional performance in healthy individuals.

SUPERFLEX – SOCIAL THINKING
The Superflex curriculum promotes the development of healthy social functioning by teaching children and youth about concepts of flexible thinking and social expectations, and how to monitor and regulate their own behaviours. Participants learn about appropriate emotional responses within a variety of social contexts as well as explore how behaviour affects relationships. Superflex is particularly effective for clients with challenges such as autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, and nonverbal learning disability (NLD).

The ALERT program teaches children self-regulation strategies within a specific framework that helps them understand their sensory challenges. By recognizing different arousal states and developing a skill set for accurate language and sensory integration across a broad spectrum, children cultivate practical tools for regulating different states. ALERT supports self-regulation for the learning, socializing, working and playing of children with all types of developmental challenges, while showing parents and teachers how to support self-regulated learning and positive behaviours.
